Dia de los Muertos - Article Summary

DAY OF THE DEAD is a Mexican holiday. The holiday focuses on gatherings of family and friends to pray for and remember friends and family members who have died. It is particularly celebrated in Mexico, where it attains the quality of a National Holiday. The celebration takes place on November 1st and 2nd, in connection with the  catholic  holidays of  all saints day (November 1) and  all souls day (November 2). Traditions connected with the holiday include building private altars honoring the deceased using sugar skulls , marigolds, and the favorite foods and beverages of the departed and visiting graves with these as gifts.

i think children should set there social media sites to private because sometimes theres valuable information that strangers can get off of your social media site and teenagers may not realize how much information they give out and it chould put them and there belongings in risk of an invation .another reason is because most of the people who say there your friends arent really your friend and they may start drama over social media sites or cyber bully you and this is why you should set your profiles on private and be careful who you add as a friend ,&not everyone is who they say they are

Academic Language Week 7 - Vampires

Will the popularity of vampires in literature and movies fade away? Of course they will,new things come in trend all the time. One reason that the popularity of vampires in literature and movies fade away is that there are too many of them like twiligt the  vampire daries, or True Blood start to get annoying after you realize all the characters and the PLOT are the same. Another reason is that these vampire movies will fade away because they are making the vampires romantic and mysterious and a FACTOR of that is attracting a female audience because they think its "cute". The way that they are making vampires now is not how they were back then. Now they have vampires afraid to drink other humans blood because thier in love with them or wanna let them free. Isnt that the true meaning of vampire? To drink humans blood? Now it's like they have taken the vampires VOICE away and they can't even be themselves anymore. There are so many reasons why Vampires will fade away because it's to overexposed.

“Two Kinds” Character Analysis Paragraph

In the conflict between Jing-Mei and her mom. Jing-Mei has the right idea. For example when Jing-Mei's mom signed her up for the talent show because she already bragged to her friends on how good Jing-Mei was and she wasn't even there at the practices. This shows that she isn't even there for her daughter becauseif she went to the practices she would know that her daughter could not play.For another example when Jing-mei's mom grabbed her and dragged her to play the piano to me that was child abuse and force. This shows that she isn't even concerened about how Jing-Mei feels or what she want's to do. This also shows that Jing-mei can stand up for herself and to her mother because she yelled at her which shut her mother down. Jing-Mei's actions shows that she doesn't want to be a prodigy piano player and that maybe her mom should accept that.

Campus Donations

I feel very thankful and touch to know people care enough to help us I havent been here that long so I havent recieved  a direct donation but im sure people are donating plenty to the school for us to remodel and upgrade are supplies and this makes me feel admired because people are going out there will to help us and to make sure we have everything we need and extra and even though most foster kids at one point or another may feel worthless and diminished and the thought that people dont care when people  give donations despite what we think make us feel satisfied ,fortunate, joyous ....thank you
